Wood veneer

* Thin slices of wood (thinner than 3mm) cut from log then glued onto core panel then coated with a thin lacquer layer
* Usually used on plywood, MFD, chipboard
* Before a log is cut into veneer, the log is often steamed or soaked in a very hot bath to soften the log so the veneer can be sliced without tearing and slitting
* After it sliced, veneer will be pressed flat between heated platens and bundles into stack in the same order that was cut from the log
* Fine appearance, professional standard quality
